I have a customer with a small system that has analog ports available. They would like something that would answer the phone in off hours and give a different outgoing message for each day of the week. They do not want to have to rerecord the message and would like it to do this on a schedule rather then manually choose day as no one would be available on weekends. Any ideas of an answer machine or small voice processor that would do this.

If it was built after 1980 don't expect it to work right.

A Vodavi/Vertical Talkpath voicemail would work, but it would not be cheap.

Toshiba can do it. I believe the older Stratagy Flash (gray wedge shaped one) worked on analog ports.

It needs to be cheap and have a 7 day schedule. I'm thinking some sort of software to go on a PC.

Amanda voicemails can do it. You can record up to 7 greetings and make a schedule for them to play.

Asterisk can do this easily, if I am not mistaken. Probably not what you were looking for though.
