Thinking about going to school on this system and was wondering if this system is anything like the 2000IVS/IPS?

2400 uses a completely different interface, cards pin out way differently, and ENs are 6-digit. The trainer spent half a day teaching how to calculate ENs -- half cabinet (00-07)+ half shelf (0-3)+ half cardslot (0-1) + circuit (00-16).

Neax 2400 is the starting point of dealing with BIG SYTEMS. Commands are (4 to 6)characters in length, in short, it is totaly diferent buy you will enjoy it....!!! :toast:

Ok well heres another qeustion which i have submitted to [email protected] and still waiting for a response, if i were to get trained on the NEAX2000IPS will this help me out in any way with the NEAX2000IVS? I currently support 2 IVS`s and may need to upgrade 1 of these.

Are the cards, cabinets, and phones in the IVS compatible with the IPS?

If so, can i get the programming from the IVS over to the new IPS?

Do you get support on the IVS as an certified IPS tech?

IVS and IPS are similar. No support on IVS,as it is not a supported product line from NEC.

Last time I checked, you could still register licenses for IVS -- upgrades, etc., -- but you can't license a new processor.

IVS and IPS are very similar. IPS uses longer commands (8aYYYY instead of 8AYYY, etc.), and offers more options and programming steps, but in general, if you know one, you know both. Consult the manual frequently.

IPS will accept 4-port cards from IVS. Slots 5-8 share timeslots with slots 9-12, so if you put an IVS 4-port card into 5, and another into 9, they occupy a total of 8 timeslots, in consecutive order. But if you put an 8-port card (IVS2/IPS) into slot 5, you can't use slot 9.

Being trained/supported on 2400 will not provide support on 2000.
