This is strictly a sidetone issue related to line balance. Please see my comments above. The only difference is the DS-Series has 2 settings (short and long).

DSX,
It is not a side tone issue on the DSX, It is a CO card problem, (As per NEC Tech Support).Just got off the phone with NEC, the new cards are now available and they will be overnighting them to us.
I also picked up som DSX2000 cards just in case.

Walter,
If the noise you are reporting is white noise, the DS2000 ATRU card will not change anything. If the problem is hum, then it will reduce it, since the longitudinal balance is better. The new COIU-B cards tech service mentioned have an improved PCB layout providing the same longitudinal balance performance as the ATRU. They will start shipping in the next few weeks.

Did you get the new card or use the ATRU? I'm on a waiting list for the new one; just wondering if it's out.

New ones out, I bought a few 2000 DS cards just in case, they also work. NEC next dayed the new cards to me. Seems they changed the proceesor chip on this card, old one was x2.v20 new one is x2.v30 . I am very happy with the sound quality now, I could not believe the sound quality with the old card, how in God's name were you guys(and gal  ) able to sell these systems with the old card? Thanks for all your help.... Walter, PS if your in a bind, I have an extra new CO card...
