At the risk of seeming like a wannabe who can't read a manual or has no business trying to do all this, I have one more question.

I would like "0" as a single digit extension (and also from the auto-attendant) to ring all MLT's on an IPS. Ideally this would ring the answer key but not required.

Should I forget the answer key and set up a virtual extension on key 0 of every phone or is there a better way?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try
200>0>801
11>LEN>0
9000>xxxx,95>0
repeat last step for all MLTs (or Feature-phones, or Dterms, as they are more commonly known with NEC).

where LEN = an unused LEN for virtuals, and xxxx = the extension number.

I would like subsequent 0 calls to ring other dterms. If I simply assign the 0 extension to the answer key on each phone, won't it busy out the answer key on the other terminals until the call is ended?

This is not an easy one to achieve. The solution provided by Telephone guy is quite valid but as you say the first call will lock out any further calls. If you want it to always ring on the ans key and want other extns to be able to take subsequent calls you will have to do some quick tricks using hardware. I won't go into great detail but 0 should dial an analogue extension which is connected back to back with a trunk circuit. The trunk circuit is permenantly DITed to the TAS and the ans buttons are set to TAS and this will then work allowing more than one call in.

The other way is to set 0 as a virtual number and then assign it as the pilot for a group call by pilot number (see the feature programming manual) you would then need to assign a virtual number under each ANS key and add it into the group (there may be quantity limitations).

Both messy ways but both would achieve the end you are seeking.

Also, you could use a pickup code to answer the call & that would leave it available for other incoming calls.
