Sorry you can't really do that, the Active Voice OEM'd voice mail systems use a really old format called OKI and it has to be 8 bit also.

I have seen it done using a conversion utility that will convert 16 bit wav files, but it sounds really bad.

Better off using a handset audio coupler that goes between the handset cord and the phone to put the audio on.

You can also use "Cooledit" to change the format of the file. It needs to be saved as a ADPCM Vox file at 6K 16bit Mono. You can then transfer it to the voicemail system into the "vmail" directory. Then you can copy it into the greeting field by highlighting the greeting you want - then pressing F2 - copy - into current field - <file name>.

Tried the cool edit thing it did not work for us several years ago, The NEC BSSD V mails are OEM'd by active voice and it never did sound right to me. The BSSD Inmails are OEM'd by CTL and the file structure is a different ball game all together.

FYI, InMail is not a CTL product. It is based on IntraMail, which was developed by NEC Infrontia's Shelton Engineering group for Aspire, DS-Series, and DSX. The prompts use the same voice talent as CTL to maintain consistency across the UBSD product line. They were carried over to IPK-II InMail for expediency.

For what it's worth.
The In-Mail prompts are G.721 32Kbps ADPCM format.
