I have a new IPKII install w/ the EliteMail LX w/ time fix. I'm guessing the time fix was to take care of the VM clock losing an hour a day+-.
But this on keeps jumping back to June 23, 2003 or something. Reset the time in Putty, and all is well for a couple days.
The VM still functions with incorrect time but I can't use the LX gui.
Anyone heard of this? Got any ideas? And from what I understand the system I installed a few days before this one is doing the same.

The IPK II & Elitemail LX were designed to be put on the customers LAN. In the case of the Elitemail LX, it should be at ver. 2.0.2.0. with the clock fix patch & networked on the LAN so it can connect to a time server to update time & date settings.
Make sure you have JAVA installed on the PC or laptop you are using to connect to the Elitemail LX. You won't be able to open some screens without it.

The VM still functions with incorrect time but I can't use the LX gui. Try this. Access the mail via putty shut, the mail down. Go to the command line. Type in date 100316552007 for example. format= mmddhhmmyyyy then type in hwclock --systohc restart the mail. I have found from experienece that you have to do a poweron restart for the time to lock. This locks the software clock entered via the date command to the U43 hardware clock. This maybe the cause of your timedate shift. Also check your timezone while you at it.. Anyone heard of this? Got any ideas? And from what I understand the system I installed a few days before this one is doing the same.

There is a fix for this.
Look on the NEC website for the patch
You need to have software version 2020 with clockfix
Every LX voicemail we installed ( about 30) had to be patched. Takes about 20 minutes with the system down.

All those with version 2.020 you're correct. Will give this a try in the AM.
Does this patch actually work long term? It's the last thing on this install and I get to go home.
Right now the customer does not have an extra port on their network for the VM. The IPKII and the call accounting are. That was the design I was given.
As far as the IPKII it's OK for now. I'm sure it will get better over time, and the more I know.

All the clock fix patches that I have done have worked well and the time seems to hold. Did you guys in the US get a new daylite savings file when it changed this year?? We never got one down here so we are back to changing manualy this week.

My customers love the VMM app. Is it just my imagination or as technology progress's, it get's "slower" & I have to work harder & longer?
