I am installing an 8 Port Intra Mail card in a DS2000 next week.
I've never done an Intra Mail in a DS2000, and it's been a while since I did one on a DS1000.
I would like to know what steps and programs I need to use for the following;
1. System will be full time AA
2. Customer wants single digit dialing for callers e.g. dial 1 for Bob (goes to ext. XXX)
3. How do I set up mailboxes w/greetings?
My understanding is that I need to update the system software version first. I have the cable to connect w/laptop.
Also, NEC tech support told me that I should not use PC programming due to bugs. Has anyone used the PC programming successfully? If so, I'd like to know your experience.
Thanks.

You will do fine with the PC Program. What version is the system now?
You should update to 3.22.10 for the new day light savings time.
Don't forget the special DIN to mod 8 cable and Mod 8 to DB9 adapter

For full AA in program 1003 set each line for day ring to 700.
First 16 mailboxes 300-315 are enabled when the system is powered up after Intra mail is installed. 316 and up have to be enabled in program 1808. Dial action tables program 8008 is where you set one digit dialing. Use the UTRF setting to the extension number.
Mail box greetings are user friendly, when they log in watch their display, one of the options you will see is greet, push the soft key and follow the instructions on the display or listen to the prompts.

Thanks.

If you program from PC admin be careful when programming the extention options hunting type. After you enter the type and destination go to next port it should ask to save if not and the screen goes to next port go back, if the settings are back to none, change it back and than click on one of the icons on the side bar and than back to extension options, the changes should be there.

If you put line overflow to ext 700 you do not have to worry about ext hunting. Any outside call that is transferred to an ext will go to the ext's vm box. Nice thing obout this is that the ext user can't mess it up. No forwarding of the phone is required. If you have done a 1000 the 2000 works the same way.

If anyone transfer other than AA to the extension it will not forward into their mailbox if hunting type is left as none
