Hey guys, I was certified on NEC about 12 years ago so I am a little rusty. I have a client that is using different day and night greetings. Currently the vms is scheduling the day to night switch. I would like to disable the automatic mode change and make it manual with a night button. I have a new Car key set up with 0 rings forward to voicemail for the night mode. My problem is disabling the vms control over the mode. Can someone help me out with this. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian

Voice mail has no control on switching modes, the only thing voice mail can to do is toggle what greeting it will play per programmed schedule.
Programs 1-1-27 sets the time when the phone system is to go in and out of night mode. 1-1-32 sets the days of week.

So all i need to do is change 3-42 on the trunks to ring my new car key with the correct forwarding and I should be good?

The user wants to manually change from day to night when they need to, so I dont think I will change the settings in 1-1-27 or 32. My biggest concern is to get rid of the automatic scheduling of day/night out of the mail. Do I just remove all entries on the scheduling screen?

So you want a manual Night key that controls which greeting is playing? I don't know the specifics of the Elite VMS, but if it follows along with other NEC systems, it's not going to be quite that easy. It sounds more like you'll need an override greeting that they can turn on and off. Calling all "Elite-ists!"

The only way to manualy change company greetings would be to log into system admin mailbox and put the system in holiday mode. Record the night greeting there. When holiday mode is on the night greeting will be played, when off the day greeting will play.

I would route the calls to 2 CAR keys for day & night mode, build T-Boxes for those CARS & record day & night greetings in the alternate greeting of those T-Boxes. Then the customer can switch from day to night greeting with the touch of a button!
