Have a residential customer with specific doorbox(Seidel). Doorbox requires analog dt input and in turn when button is pressed it dials a preprogrammed extension on the system (DSX 2.11 w/Intramail Pro). Problem is if no one is home I need to get the ringing (CCK) to stop in some manner. The previous system was DS2000 w/2E. I set that up so that the analog extension that was dialed by the doorbox was call frwd. to vm on a na condition. In turn that mailbox was designated as an announcement mailbox with silent recording so all the outside person heard was "goodby". Can't get that to happen with the DSX/Intramail Pro. Still have the 2E to utilize if necessary. Anybody have any creative ideas????

Okay, Jim, I am not an expert, have never delt with the Pro VM, BUT, try your old VM from the DS and see if everything works.
If it does, the programming is in the VM.
One question....CCK ringing....did you also show it as a DSS? Verify it from the DS.
Just one more question....is the DSX an 80/160 or a 40?

It's an 80.....was not shown as dss key. I'm hoping the 2E gives me what I need. Pretty screwed up that I've got to use 2 voice mails for 1 site but if it works I'll take it. No the door box doesn't have any options to stop the ringing either.

How would you set up a group mailbox. The doorbox needs to ring first of course and then either stop or go somewhere (cf/na), so I assume it has to be directed to an extension.

I am not familiar with ,that particular door box,But The NEC DS1000 door box is very affordable ,It will ring the prescribed ext's and then disconnect, I think you could program it to be answered by the voice mail after so many non answered rings, NEC Tech support is available on line. There is also a Tech in here on the Board from that group.Reply through this board ,I am sure He will help you.(DSX Deus)if you use their doorbox, I have another brand on one DS100 that is programmable to drop after so many minutes ,if no one answers.

No their existing doorbox will be staying in place, camera built in.. all the works....multi-million dollar home in Westchester, NY...so I've gotta try and make it work in some manner.....gonna try and see what I can do with the 2E voice mail and if that doesn't fly then maybe try to insert a Viking interface at some point. Going to have to be creative on this one.

Go to Intramail programming under station config for whatever extension is ringing, make sure it has a personal mailbox(2141). Still in Intramail under A.A. (2144) check dialing option and enter an unused Next Call Routing Mailbox. (eg:802)
Now under Voice Mail/Routing Mailbox(4222), go to Mailbox 802 and assign an unused Dial Action Table to it.
Now go to that dial action table(4231), and for Time Out and tell it to hang-up.
So now you can record a second of silence on that mailbox and it will then hang-up.

Does that ext have a mailbox? Are you on site now? Did you have breakfast?
