I have installed the Engenius long range analog phones on several IPK systems and they seem to be a good solution for a long range portable phone.

My issue is with a multi-base (4 bases and 25 handsets) setup that is installed on an IPK II.

It seems the analog ports on the IPKII are burning up the input ports on the base stations.

I am replacing my 3rd base station in 3 weeks at this particular site.

I have checked the analog ports to make sure no MW is activated and have put those analog ports in their own COS with no MW. I can't figre out if I'm just getting a bad batch of base stations or it's got something to do with the IPKII.

I have other sites with units working on the IPK switches that uses the exact same station card (SLIB4 & E4) and those sites have never had one issue.

Anyone else have to deal with this?

The customer is frustrated, as am I.

I wish my salesguys would stick with stuff we KNOW works.

Try inserting a 100 ohm 1 watt resistor in series with the station port.

I have had to do this before on some locations that still use modems on analog ports.
The loop current is too high, and the newer modems, answering machines, fax machines and cordless sets seem too sensitive.

After spending several hours troubleshooting last night I have determined that the problem I am having is with 2 particular handsets when they are assigned to 1 particular base station. When either handset is assigned to any other base station it works fine.

Talk about a nightmare to troubleshoot.

Engenius is replacing the 2 bad handsets under warranty and I am glad to see the back end of this nightmare!! smile
