True. The SV8100 replaces the IPK2 and the SV8300 will replace the 2000IPS.
Same hardware but the 8300 has an external CPU for release 1. Working on the 8100 now. Interesting times lay ahead..

The 8100 is not replacing the IPK II. As for the 2000 I don't know. I spoke with someone from NTAC and they informed me that the 8100 will have the programming interface of the IPK II but the hardware will differ. On the 8100 if you do all IP there is not much hardware, but if you do TDM you will need to get CO Cards, Digital and Analog cards. Of course the hardware will be different from the IPK II.

The SV 8100 IS the replacement for the IPK2 and the SV8300 IS the replacement for to 2000IPS. Both SV systems have common hardware with a few exceptions. The IPK2 will go the way of the Elite 192 etc by the end of 2008

So this is a primary IP system? And from what I gather the hardware is to be completely different than anything currently out there? Is there going to be a seperate training module?

It's a bit of a catchup system. It runs IP SIP Dterms well but it also handles analog stations and digital protims Dterms. Has a nice combo card that can have on it 16ESI, 2SLI and a BRI or analog CO daughter card. The hardware is completely different to the existing systems. With the exception of the ISDN cards is a nice step forward.. Comes as a 2U size chasis that can be rack, wall or floor mounted..
