I am used to working on the Electra Elite IPK. We just got a new one and a new CPU Card. The card is CPU II (100) ET (10). First of all there is an RJ-45 port on the card. Can I enter programing from that port? How? Secondly, how I am used to entering programming through the phones is different. What do I do here.

I guess a bigger question is, is this an IPK or an IPK II CPU Card?

Thanks,

David

You take a CD that comes with the system, put in your computer if you have one and read the manual.

The CPU II is for the IPK II. The programming is entirely different from the IPK and Elite. If you are familiar with the NEC Aspire..... pretty much the same programming with a few exceptions, plus... many of the dialed feature codes are changed; they start with 700's where the Aspire is 800's.

Yes, you can program via a laptop, but I find the phone programming much faster.

That is an IPKII CPU.

The programming is 100% different from the Elite/IPK systems.

The default IP address for the system is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Set your laptop address to be similar (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)
and use your web browser to access the system.

You really need to spend some time getting some training if you are going to work on the NEC switches.

There's a reason each system has 3 weeks worth of training classes (basic/advanced/IP), not including a week of voicemail training.

good luck

D

You're going to have to change hat's to work on the IPK II, my friend!

Most of the hardware is re-usable except for the ECR now needs PGD adapters, the DTI-U-40 is required for PRI OR T-1, for example...
