I have an Aspire with T-1 and DID's...... went in about a year ago, works great.

Customer is going to lease part of his office space to a new tenant who will be sharing the Aspire. Customer will have calls to company B ring at the attendant station and answered appropriately. However, he wants the outbound caller ID to display the name and number of Company B (currently displays name & number of Company A).

I know with a PRI I can overlay outbound caller ID digits. Can this be done with a T-1? I'm guessing that overlaying a completely different name is not doable, or,

is this a case where the telco will have to partition the T-1 channels for two separate accounts (i.e., comany name and number)?

The only reference I can find in the software manual for outbound caller ID is for the PRI.

The Carrier is the provider of outbound CID on a T1 circuit where on a PRI you can control the outbound CID through the switch. If they have to have different CID then they will either need another T1 or if you can get the carrier to partition the channels that's great. Most carriers will only send one form of CID for the whole circuit.

You maybe able to get the carrier to split some trunks off for the second tenant but then the primary would lose access to those trunks and may not like it.
