Please let me know if some one has done this before. I am wondering about the serial cable to and from the PMS-u10 do they have to be Null Modem (cross over) or straight through??

I've only set up PMS on NEAX 2000, not on elites, but here are some general clues for you:
See what the PMS expects for baud parity, and pinout. If they (the PMS people) can give you a straight answer on these, you'll be way ahead. Otherwise, you'll need to guess and by-golly with your laptop until you see data on hyperterminal or procomm. I recommend Procomm, btw.
As for null modem, try both until you get data on your laptop. Keep a few null modem or pin-it-yourself boxes in your toolbag at all times. Gender changers are worth their weight in gold, also.
And as you do it, think to yourself how much easier PMS sets up on a Mitel. (Sorry, had to throw that in... )
Enjoy.

Originally posted by kbarry: What is Procomm, never heard of it. As well where can I find it. Let's just call it one of the most popular terminal emulation programs that ever existed. HyperTerminal is a cheap (free) replacement for a terminal program that comes with Windows, so people stopped buying Procomm. I don't think that it is still available as a new product. No offense, but asking what Procomm is would be the equivalent to asking what a butt set is.
