I was wondering if someone could explain the procedure of remote access using the ipkII using the internal modem. I have read some documentation that says you need to transfer to a default extension to get a connection, but can't find anything saying what this extension is. Any help is greatly appreciated.

11-15-01 default = 730 so you can point a DID or DIL to 730 for you "modem" RDA access. yes you can set up remote access over the WAN ( or Internet ) you just need to re-direct port 8000 ( 90-38-02 ) to the IP address of you IPK II CPU , make sure you have the default router IP in your 10-12-xx series.... You can always redirect port 80 as well but if you are connecting it to the internet i would highly advise against that as every one has a web browser and not every one has PCPro . Just a *little* security.

Easiest way is to set up a VPN and connect to your customer's network remotely this way. Then you will have access to the Phone System and the Voice Mail with one connection.

One IP address for both phone and voice mail, only if customer has Inmail, Elite mail LX has its own IP address.

740 is the extension number for the MOD-U-10 on the CPUII, which, is optional equipment.

In our systems, 740 is called modem access & 730 is called remote maintenance, however, only 740 works.
