Hello all, I have a NEC ELECTRA PROFESSIONAL SYSTEM II and I'm looking the possibility to add caller Id to the system. I have ETW16 phones.

Wich card do I need...? and as in the KSU manual I didn't find any info about caller ID's, there are special instructions to setup it...?

Thanks in advance !!!

Each trunk card requires a CID-F(8) 11 card that installs (piggy-back) onto the COI-F (8) trunk cards. If you want to store and scroll through caller ID records, you will also need the MIF-M card for the Pro II.

Correction: for caller ID storage and scrolling you need the MIF-(C)-10 KTU in the PRO II.

one more caveate: System software for caller ID must be 4.5 or higher.

The COI cards must be U-30 series.
The COI-(F)U-30 cards must be in slots 1-4 of the main KSU.

CID name OR number only is supported.

You are limited to only 16 extensions to recieve CID.

CID to CAR keys not supported.

Sorry for the doom & gloom sense of my reply, but, CID on the Electra Professional Level II was expensive & limiting at the same time.

Caller ID for any system manufacture in that era was expensive.

Thanks for all the great help. I have this cards installed:

MIF-F(5)-10
CPU F(50)-20

ESI-F(8)-21
ESI-F(8)-21
SLI-F(8G)-21
COI-F(8)-30
COI-F(8)-30
ESI-F(8)-21
VMS-F(4)-20

I do not have MIF-(C)-10 but have MIF-F(5)-10, is for call printer log and communication to the CPU I remember. It will work instead the MIF-F(5)-10...?

COI cards are '30' termination but are COI-F(8)-30 instead of COI-(F)U-30, same question about if they will work.

CPU version is 5.02 so it is ok.

If my system will work with the CID-F(8) 11 then I will start searching for 2 cards to piggy-back on the 2 COI cards.

Regards.

Edit: So far I have found CID-F(8)-10 cards.

The MIF-(C) is required if you want to review CID calls. Be advised, The EPRO II is VERY limited in this feature. You can only review the last 10 calls.

That being said, you should be able to make this work, however, the Electre Professional Level II has been discontinued by NEC for 10 years. If CID is important to your operation, I would recommend an upgrade.

If you have DTU series sets, they can be migrated to the IPK II platform, however, they are "supposed" to be supported on the new SV8100, but we cannot get them to work...yet. . ETW series sets are not supported on the IPK II nor the SV8100.

Good luck in your CID endeavor!

Ok, my expectatives was to see the CID on the ETW lcd when somone calls and most important if the CID also will print on the SMDR log.

At least I need the SMDR log only to be recorded with the CID. Currently the SMDR logs everithing, internal and external calls.

But knowing that, maybe I need to upgrade as you say. The other alternative is to find a standalone CID logger capable of handle the 15 lines whe have. CID has become a prime issue now here so I have to find a solution.

Many thanks for the help. As the CID cards are not very expensive I could purchase just one to 'test' the PROII features.

Regards.
