I'm sure someone will be able to answer this quick. I am still a bit green with the 8100.

I am setting up a system in my lab and discovered that for an internal station to station call you can't retrieve the held call.. Do I have to put ICM keys on all the phones? I already have 2 CAP keys, so I would have to waste 4 keys for average phone users? This doesn't seem right. I hope I am missing a system setting or something. Calls are between ITL-8D if that matters..

Thanks in advance,
Brandon

Looks like a ICM key *00 button on the fones that you wish to hold the internal call on is the best way that I have seen. Someone else may have another worthy idea as well..

Thanks for the input. So, would others concur that a "standard" (non square key) button layout would include having an ICM and one or two CAP keys on every phone?

I recall on the IPK that while requiring CAP keys for outside calls that internal calls would go on hold on the ANS key.

I don't think I have ever put an ICM key.

Not saying that it isn't the right way to do it, b ut I've never had a need for one.

I haven't either on my last two 8100 installs, but I think now maybe they just never put each other on hold.. so that goes back to my original question- On an 8100 (and presumably IPK II) if an internal station puts another internal station on hold is there any way to retrieve the call without an ICM key?
