For some reason a new member can't log in to post this question, so I'll post it. ------------------------------ We have Aspire M phone system and have figured out how to get music on hold using the internal music. We would like use an external source and I'm having difficulty locating the input for the external source. Do we need to buy an interface for to use an external source or is there something already built in. J Gunther ----------- If someone can email him the answer..I'm sure he'd appreciate it. On the CPU, the bottom most input (looks like a data jack) and is labeled CN16. The MOH input uses pins 2 & 7. You must tell the system in programming that the music source is External, not Internal.

They will also have to get into programing and switch MOH from internal to that device.

Thanks Eriway for the information. My questions is now how do I isolate pins 2 and 7? What kind of interface will we need to get this to work? Obviously it's not just a RCA input. Unfortuntly......

The recommended procedure is to bring CN16 out to a punch block. It also contains pins for Background music and External paging.
As Crisco mentioned, you will need to go into programming to point the system to the external MOH input.

Or get a DSP chip and copy a WAV file to it, then you have digital quality audio that will never stop !!
