I have recently replaced the voicemail system in a 2000IPS with an AD-8 voicemail for a customer. One the the features they wanted were the softkeys. I went throught the whole process of adding the cable (from the vm to the processor) and all the programming that went along with it. Unfortunatly this didnt work! I then learned that the vm Q version I had installed was an old version (something like Q1... i dont remember exactly). So after all the trouble of obtaining an upgrade from NEC i finally got it up to a Q version of Q41431 (i think thats the correct version, i know its 414..) I was under the impression that once i got it upgraded to the proper Q version I would be able to go into Cosessions and change my switch type to NEAX2000 w/ softkeys. However this option still doesnt appear. The only options it will give me are
1)Neax 2000 S. America
2)Neax 2000 N. America
3)Neax 2000 w/ MCI
I am now at a loss as to what to do to get the softkeys working! If anyone has any advice on this one I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Here is some info I cut and paste from my NEC AD8 cheat sheet:

For Neaxmail AD8:

Set any com/serial ports to 9600/8/N/1

CM 4013 > (CPU serial port usually is 0 ) = 0
Connect cable to the BOTTOM comport on the front of the AD8

The data setting or value for the AD8 in CM 08>900 must be the opposite of the com port setting on the CPU where you are connected to do the softkey download. (IE: 1=com port 0 and 0 = com port 1)

All VM ports must be assigned 0 in CM 1337 and 1324

CM 08>702=1
CM 08>703=1
CM 08 704=1
CM 08 708=1
CM 08>713=1
CM 08>715=1

make sure DIP switch 4 on IPS CPU to the left (turns off remote modem and enables com port)

reboot AD8

Use CM EC4 to check status of download

If CM EC4 shows 00 for all ports and you still do not have softkeys, ensure user mailboxes are not set for "hands free" mode in the VM.

I really think all my programming is correct on the system. I will definatly double check it against what you have listed though. Is the hands free mode option in my expanded options in Cosessions?

I have tried all of these solutions. Unfortunatly nothing seems to be working! If anyone has any more ideas I would greatly appreciate it. I have one idea but I dont know if it will mess anything else up. When we loaded the upgrade software, it did not come up with any additional switch types. I was wondering if I could manually insert the SKT=15,30 on the Integration Options (Line 2 of the Switch Setup Page) I have checked at the mail banner screen, if I press F5, I do see option INT SKT, which is supposed to mean I have softkey integration installed. Any help is appreciated.
