my spouse has moved her biz. She has inherited an NEC Electra Elite IPK. She still has the Panasonic KXT system I put in her old place.
But the NEC appears to be functional, as it rings and dials out on the one line Vzn found it in their heart to punch in. The local NEC dealers want a thou to "reset, set-up & train" her staff of 2. (I can't imagine what a maint contract would cost.)
I managed to punch in & set-up the KXT at the old place, but need some guidance on this NEC and the attached VM module.
Would someone lend a guiding hand?

Only 2 users? What do you need to do?
Can you provide the types of cards & what slots they are in?
We'll see what we can do.
Also, you mentioned there is a voice mail system. See if you can get the login & password to administer it from the previous owner.

It's a Physical Therapy office. Over the course of the day, perhaps 4 people use the phones on 4 exts.
Vzn came back and landed the 2nd line to the NEC system and the fax/dsl to a jack.
previous owner has passed.
I think the easiest thing for the VM is to skip what's there as the maker offers no support. I'm thinking I'll take the 2nd pair off the main phone and punch to the demarc then plug a consumer AM in. I would also want to add a consumer cordless and perhaps buy a couple more extensions. Then there would be some simple programming related to the whole lot.
Getting both lines to the AM at night. Transferring an incoming to the cordless, if possible.
I'll check cards today and post. Thanks

In S1 is a ESI B8 In S2 is a SLI 4 analog card In S3 is a COI 8
On the side panel there are 2 RCA jacks labeled MOH/In 1 and ESP/OUT 2. I guess 1 is Music on Hold. How would I use these? Also 3 9 pin Com ports.
There is one DTH 8D-1 deskset (I'd guess the control head since there is a screen on it, which always says "sys", "sta", "up", "down") and one DTH 8-1 deskset.
There are 4 66 blocks. 1 is Vzn demarc with 3 lines attached. 2 is marked ESI & SLI 3 are the 8 extensions 4 oops I ferget.
There is an Executive Voice VM module plugged into the SLI 1 & 2. That will be replaced by a consumer AM that my wife is happy with. Since EV wants more then it's worth to check the machine.....
I assume that I punch from the SLI pins to whatever extension the AM is on. But I imagine there has to be some programming to transfer the lines to the AM at night.
Same with a consumer cordless I'd like to add. How would I transfer to that phone during the day?

I'd Punch the AM onto Line 1 (WH/Bl) Pair and connect jack on Spair pair at front Desk. and Connect the cordless onto first port of SLI. call the phone with the display to conferm the EXT. Number. When a Call come's in for that EXT, Press Tranfer and Dial the Cordless EXT. Number and Hangup.

thanks. Is there a way to program so that the AM picks up both lines? Most people dial the main line, but I gather some dial the rollover and if so they wouldn't get the AM.

I would get a 2-line AM & connect it to SLI ports 1 & 2. The CO lines are probrably DIT to the old VM pilot which should go to the 1st two SLI ports.
I would then connect the analog cordless to SLI port 3.

and the system would or wouldn't need any additional programming to get the SLI is in the system? What does DIT mean?
I'd like to turn up the ringer volume and spread the ringer to other extension or alternatively add a wireless ringer.
Is there a pdf on prgramming?

Let's pretend that I have no idea what the last 10 posts mean ('cause I don't!) and I need someone to advise me on how to access voicemail if the person with the code is no longer available.
Thanks for your time!
