Hi experts,
We have a customer using an Elite 192 and a PRI with bunch of DID's, the problem is when user on the phone, a second INTERNAL caller calls in will have a BUSY signal, which make sense to me; however, if the caller is calling from OUTSIDE using the DID, which the ext will only have a kind of call waiting alert once and then keep ringing on the callers end, the caller will be misled as no one is available by the ring-no-answer.
All the customer wants is a BUSY signal just like someone calling internally.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, TIA!

If no one responds I'll have a look when I get back to work on Monday. You can make the second caller get busy via CLS settings which I have at work in an old book..

I don't know any way to make DID rings busy on PRI.
You have to use a Flash to be able to pick up a second call, CAP key for the roll over or CAR key to answer that call and finally VM where all calls will be going on RNA or Busy.

You could try to set MB 1-1-23 to a telephone that does not exist or to a CAR key, anything that would give re-order tone.

See what happens if you change Memory Block 4-51 "Off Hook Ringing" to NO. That should stop the call waiting sound the user hears, however, I'm not sure what the caller hears. It's been a while since I played with that one.

I'd put an SIE (Secondary Incoming Ext) Button on the Phone, Then The BNA will come into Play. Also The Customer will have The Chance To pick Up the DID. This is Assigned In 4-12.

Forgot to mention that the customer is actually on a SLT, no sure does it make any difference though...
vad60: Unfortunately, it is a SLT, no button can be assigned, but all they want is only a busy signal; thanks anyway!
jzett: I did try 1-1-23, still having call waiting...
eriway: I did try 4-51, still having call waiting...
Rickman: Unfortunately, it is a SLT, no button can be assigned, thanks anyway!

Any more thoughts? Thanks!

Hunt Group,

Try this.
Set Call forward busy/no answer from each station to an extension that does not exist.
Lift handset, dial 43 + non-existant extension, hang up.
Then check MB 4-42 and set each station to call forward immediate on busy.

Internal busy is understandable cause only One ICM. Busy on PRI never cause all channels in roll over. The only possible way is to change PRI to DS1. Pull needed DID out off hunt and make it as a stand alone line.

This is how we set caller busy on second call for ISDN down here on Elite and IPK1 systems

MB 1.8.08 station CLS
set Voice/tone Override /campon to D
set Call alert notification to D

This will return busy tone to the second caller. This assumes your ISDN has a similar D channel signaling to ours..
