About 2 years ago I upgraded an Elite 192 to IPK II. The customer has approx. 130 phones of which about half are the original DTU-16D's. Lately, many of the DTU displays are going funky. Some have the center row of characters missing, one phone has what looks like Chinese characters marching across the display from right to left. The problems go away with the swapping of the phone.
The DTH phones don't seem to be having this issue (other than missing pixels.... which is a whole different problem).
I have installations out there with DTU phones that go back to the beginning of time and never have had an issue with displays.
Is anyone else seeing problems with IPK II gear and DTU phones?

It's been a month and I'm back to this customer with funky displays on DTU phones.
They are running version 01.10. I went to the NTAC web site and see :
Electra Elite IPKII CPU software version 2.11, and Electra Elite IPKII CPU software version 1.61 available to download. It looks like the 2.11 version requires a software license for version 2 whereas the 1.61 does not mention anything about additional licenses. So.... if I download and try to upgrade with 1.61 is there any other software/feature issues that I might be introducing to their system that will cause us further headaches? I don't see a way to revert back 01.10.
I have upgrades software on Aspires and DSX's without any problems. However, it seems every time I even LOOK at the Elite, something goes awry.
Any advice?

You should be good with the 1.61 upgrade. It should not create other headaches that they don't already have and may possibly fix the display problem. Its worth a shoT!!!

Thanks guys,
So I have the 1.61 on my desk top, do I simply copy the files onto a compact flash and use that for the system upgrade? Or is there some other step involved? I've never had any IPK II process that was simple.
...............just nervous..........

If you Downloaded the Zip file from NTAC, unzip it and you'll see a PDF Doc. that has the steps.

copy the unzipped upgrade files to a compact flash card, back up your switch with pc pro, put he compact flash card on the cpu and the bottom LED should turn solid, perform a manual system init by holding in the small black button, flipping the yellow toggle and holding the small black button until the led's start to blink.
Then go find something to do for 10 minutes, I swear every time I sit there and watch the LED's it takes longer and longer.
once all the 3 LED's above the CF LED flash all at the same time, remove the CF card and reset the system again.
Feature + 3 on the phone verify your software level.
Does this customer have an INmail perchance???
