Hi folks, I am connected to my NEC DS1000 phone switch and can see the SMDR data flowing. I can identify outgoing called numbers but cannot decipher that there is incoming call numbers in the data? Caller ID information is displayed on the handsets. 1. Can an NEC DS1000 report on incoming 'called from' numbers 2. If it can, how do I get the information? Note: I have tried multiple trial-ware applications but none seem to see the data for incoming. Is there something that needs to be enabled in the PC programming interface to show the data/ Thanks in advance.

The Incoming Caller ID is passed to the SMDR. There is no programming involved in that. Have you hook up a computer running a terminal program to see what the system is sending?

In the SMDR output, there is a column that is labeled "T". Incoming calls that are answered will have "IN" in this column. If the incoming call rings but is not answered, "RNA" will appear in this column. Outgoing calls will have "OUT" in this column. See pages 498-499 of the DS Series Software Manual . OUT = Outgoing trunk call IN = Incoming trunk call RNA = trunk that rang but was not answered
