I've got a DTR-4R-1 base that appears to have lost the ID bond with its handset. Does anyone
know if there is a way to reset or reprogram this?

Have You Checked Your APR Connection Under The Phone? Or Did You Move It to a Different Phone?

Hi RickMan,
I have two of these DTR-4U-1, given to me from
another facility, that have not been in service for a while so I don't know their history. One works normally when connected to an ESI circuit. The other looks like it's working but, when TALK is pressed, the handset reads "NO SERVICE".

Hello RH,
I would start with My ports and make sure you don't have any duplicate port assignments. Plug a Phone into the ESI port and Make sure its good.

This is from the General Discription of the IPK System: "Dterm CORDLESS II TERMINAL
The NEC Dterm Cordless II Terminal may be used with the Electra Elite IPK
KTS. The DTR-4R-1 TEL uses 900 MHz Digital Spread Spectrum (DSS)
Technology and must be connected in tandem to a Multiline Terminal".

I'm testing everything on a known-good ESI circuit with a DTU-8U terminal. I've tested other cordless DTR handsets on this same circuit with no problems.

Each cordless DTR handset must be identified with its base otherwise nearby units would have cross-talk problems. What if a base needs replacing? How does the tech re-join the new base to a handset?

There must be a way... does anybody have a manual?

Thanks Rickman,
It seems that all these NEC cordless phones have matching serial numbers for the handset and the base and there is no way to change the pairing.
So... it looks like I've got a couple of boat-anchors here. :-(

Question: I can't find any info on the setup for the ETW-4R-1 handset, does anyone have a user manual on that?

Thanks again for your help.
-RH
