I have a client that has a DS1000 NEC system. Logix just changed their lines over to their service. The Client is not able to access *. It gives a fast busy. Is there something in programming that would stop the user from dialing * from line 1 so they can forward the calls?
Can someone explain the process of allowing the *?

Have you tied it at the D Marc with a Butt set?
Also some carriers change their feature access codes too depending what switch the lines run out of. Googling Logix call forward did come up with *82 as being the code but you never know these days.

could they dial * before the conversion or is the forwarding new ?
when you tried it at the dmark are you sure you tried it on the line in question ?
maybe the feature was added to the wrong line

The *72 does work at the D-Marc. Seems to me it is the system that is blocking it.
We were accessing line 1 which is provisioned for Forwarding and tested the forwarding at the D-Marc.
the old provider was 72# to forward.

*72 is the feature code for call forwarding. Been on many cuts with Logix. They know what they are doing. Never had an issue with Logix. They are a good company.

I would be sure the trunk and station don't have toll restrictions enabled
you might also try *72 as a speed dial
look under tools at tools in the PC programmer one option is to initialize toll restriction
worse case you could initialize the system and reload the programing

You may want to check that they are actually using Line 1 to initiate the call forwarding. It may be a mislabeled phone or a loop key.
I will do some testing on my bench system at the shop tomorrow to see if I can replicate your problem.
