Proposing new 8100 system customer. they are expanding their office to an new office literally across the street. I believe i am to order a point to point connection from our local ISP (light path)??? They are going to have 40 TDM phones at existing site (a) and 24 IP phones new site (B) Is a fiber point to point going to do the job or do i need 2 separate internet connections with static IP and adequate bandwidth. Also what type of switch should i use on both sides, What has been used in the field? Sorry, New to the IP world, going to pop cherry on this one.

HP pro-curve POE managed switches have always worked well for me.

As far as the link between buildings, if it's possible to run fiber, then that's the obvious choice.

If not, point to point data T-1 for their network/VOIP will do fine.

Just make sure your IT folk can setup QOS on the routers at both ends and all will be fine.

Thank you, I Work with a IT guy he was trying to see if sonic wall would work but sonic wall said it would not. We are going to head up the Network connectivty also. Our ISP is using a fiber connection for the point to point but i was always under the assumtion we needed Static IP's from ISP. I guess since it is just a P2P then everything is supplied from Customer interal network. Finally, I was unsure if they should order a deticated Internet connection for side B as well just for internet use.
Great bike byw. Is that a Monster?
