You will need to have two routes set up in your switch. One will have to be restricted, and one open. CM 8A50XX.

Then you will need to set up the restricted phones with two different settings in CM 1201. For example, unrestricted 1201>xxxx>11, restricted 1201>xxxx>44.

You will need to permit authorization in CM 1531 for the Class of Service ( CM 1531>00>1 for COS 00 ). Also 15401>00>0 for COS 00 (change 00 if another class). In CM 2B you can set initial authorization code.

Works like this: Caller dials trunk code, 9. Dial Tone. (see CM 200). Called dials phone number. Fast-busy/reorder tone. (see CM 8A5xxx). Dials Authorization code. Call goes through.

See Feature Programming Manual, "Authorization Code."

Not the correct way of doing it. There is a way of creating access codes with their own class of service. I have answered this elsewhere so I won't clutter this one up. Check the feature programming manual for the correct way!

Sorry, that was off-the-cuff with only the command manual for guidance. I would normally program it from the Feature Programming Manual.

I don't often use this feature, though.

Not many people do. No need to be sorry though, you were trying to help. It's just that I pasted the solution for this on another site and didn't want the OP to get confused! I also sent him instructions on how to get the manual, so he may be better equipped now!
