Hi all I am just getting back into the industry after a few years out of it. I bought and Elite Ipk with a CPUII recently. I have read that these Dterm 80 phones have had display problems. I have 30 phones and 27 have broken up numbers and words in the display. Have they found a fix for these or can I replace the display? It seems a waste to throw them all away. Also I cant get into programing because I think the password has been changed. Does anyone know the default password in case I am doing it wrong. From what I read it is xxxxxxxx. Neither work. Thanks a bunch

Try using the Dterm built-in diagnostic tool:
Unplug the line cord. Hold down # and * while plugging in the line cord. The display should tell you what buttons to press, in what order, going through all buttons (each line key twice) until you've tested each possible function on the phone.

The bad display phones were part of a bad batch from 2006/2007 that had a defective ribbon cable that would cause the displays to go bad, lose lines vertically and horizontially over time.
Contact an NEC dealer in Colorado to help you out *ahem!*.
