on our new 8100, I'm trying to load the ACD configuration from the server, but get "Error Downloading File config.txt" I've checked and double checked the server address, and the MIS manager DOES come up but there's obviously no data.

This is a migration from the IPKII ACD/MIS and the admin has never worked. I'm actually trying to run some reports, but because the MIS server doesn't doesn't see any agents (no config) I obviously cannot.

any ideas?

Usually a .txt file is a plain-english ASCII file, so if you can find one and open it, you can copy the data to a new file and name it config.txt.

You can also copy a Config.txt file from a different location or a backup.

Have you tried to import the config file?? I suspect the one from the old IPK2 will not work. We have had lots of problems with the ACD server app and config files getting corrupted after a power outage on the server PC and having to rebuild agents and ques from the start again....

Yikes...Well the ACD has been rebuilt since the IPKII upgrade (to 8100) So even if it were compatable, it'd be outdated.
Does the MIS server need the O&M Ports configured as well, currently they are blank in the Server Setup. I had to set them up for Desktop Shared Services, but don't recall the pgm # where I got the O&M info. I thought it was 10-14.
The MIS server app does connect to the switch, But the ACD admin program doesn't seem to realize the MIS server is there. So is there no way to export a config from the switch itself?
I'm wondering if this isn't just a port issue and I'm overlooking something simple.

Thanks, I got it.

I looked at the config on another of our 8100's and the O&M ports do in fact need to be configured on the MIS server itself with a User Administrator Login (default XXXXX) and pass (default XXXX). Default port is 8010.

my bad.

One thing if you are using Agent Login Codes (41.01.02) we have discovered that if O&M is left on after the initial config of the ACDMIS and if there is a power outage and the server gets rebooted there is a 90% chance that the config file will get corrupted and you will see a RED connection indicator instead of a green one on the server app and you will have to rebuild the whole thing again.. It's happen on one of our sites about 5 times until we discovered this..

wow. that seems like a rather large bug...Nice catch in only 5 tries! I've fought for much longer with fewer variables.

We're using AIC login for the queue itself, would that make us prone? My 41-01 is as follows:

01: (blank)
02: 0
03: Not Set
04: (unchecked)

I should be OK yes?

Yes.. In theory.. But we have made a point of turning off O&M after the initial setup of the ACDMIS..

I see. So I'll turn on O&M only if I need to grab a config from the server or up a config, then disconnect when done.
That's a nice bit of "gotchya" knowledge.

thanks again.
