Hello, I have an NEC Electra Elite phone that I just purchased a basic direct-connect headset for. The manual I have says only to 'plug headset into headset jack', which I have done, and 'push headset button to answer phone'. This is where I run into trouble, as there is no headset button. I understand there may be a way to program this button into the phone - can anyone out there help me with this?

DrPBX -- I also have the NEC DTU 8-1 with a headset port and a button that apparently needs to be programmed. Can you help us 'crack the code?' Many thanks

Ive run into this issue countless times. Enter programming mode, Press LK4. Go to the port number of the phone you want a HEADSET button for, then go to memory block 12. Press LK1-8 until you see "HEADSET". If you don't get it from LK1-8, press FEATURE, then go through LK1-8 again until you get it. Press TRANSFER to save. Hope this helps others out there who have banged their head against the wall on this If you need more in-depth instructions, PM me.
