Hello,
I am a Sub contractor and mostly work for National Accounts that handle the work for corporate companies. I'm trying to find available training on some of the old systems. Like the Avaya Partner and Nortel phone systems. Is there any thing out there for me to obtain training without being a dealer? If there is could you direct me to there site?
Thanks

i do not know how long you have been in the industry but your best bet would be to look at the different systems and actually talk to the manufactor and see when i first started out i became a ESI dealer and it was rather easy to accomplish that. If you look in the Mart catalog you can find plenty of secondary market resellers and mabe talk to them and they can possibly help you out good luck and welcome the the board

Most manufacturers will train you. There are also external companies that do this. Either way, it'll cost you $$$.

Technically, both the ACS and the ICS systems are pretty basic. The various peripherals of an ACS voice mail will give you something to work on, and trunking, beyond basic dial tone might be different, but you could obtain manuals and systems for under $500 and train yourself.
Most sytems require a common skill set. Learning the basics and being able to apply the differences is more valuable as you gain experience. I still have National accounts with Panasonic DBS and Comdial Executech systems.
In view of the fact that both the ACS and ICS will be history, it's not very practical to get "formal" training on either. Instead, develop as thorough a knowledge as you can on these systems with an eye toward learning more amd more different systems.
