I've been away from the DSX line for a few years and recently installed a DSX-80 with Intramail. I've got everything installed and programmed but Ext. 300 operator mailbox keeps filling up with hang ups (line time out from telco). There are only 3 loop start lines on the system being supplied by the local CATV via converter box. Is this something I need to talk to the dial tone provider about or are there settings I need to change under trunk setup etc.? TIA.

The dial tone provider has to provide disconnect supervision.

I just had this with Cabelvision ,It was ok for 3 years then x300 started getting 40-50 hangups in an hour.
In the Dial Action Tables I changed T/O to hang up and immediately cured issue.
See if this does it for you.

Thanks for the quick responses. I'll probably try these two in that order, I'm not sure the customer will let me get away with setting TO to hang up but they may not have a choice.

It should eliminate the issue until you get the disconnect supervision problem resolved [if ever]and then go back. My customer went from cabelvision to light path so I will go back and try,LP gave other issues like no dial of 411/911 and dtmf pass thru.

The provider in my area calls the feature COD; cutoff on disconnect. When the caller hangs up it sends the c.o. a signal to tear down the call. I have had to call the provider alot to order it on lines in order to get calls to cancel after handups on auto. att. calls.

some providers consider it a feature and charge extra for it , I had the problem with century link and the customer had to pay a additional 5 per line for it
