How can I see what the maximum number of ports that are available on a NEC Aspire. In programming, I'm in System Data Programming
11-02 : Extension Numbering, but I believe its showing me the max the software could see not the actual number I have physically available. On my other phone systems, I usually look at the physical cards and total up the number of ports.

Thanks

Check then Hold on any display phone will tell you what you are running.

Aspire M PAL = 64
Aspire L PAL+ = 128
Aspire XL = 512 or 256CPU

Also in Webpro you can pull up system configuration and it shows all the cards in the slots.

I have:

ESIU 1-16
16DSTU 17-32
16DSTU 33-48

Also, I show PC Programming : 06.22 (US Release, M/L). Does that indicate whether I have a M or a L?

Did You do what I told you to do from a display phone? (make sure it's an Aspire phone not an iseries) It will give software level AND PAL status.

So, you don't have any trunk cards in the system? Also looks like you might have dstu cards that allow the older iseries phones to work. Right there I can see 1-48 ports.

pala-upgrade is pal+ 128 ports. Ports are ports and every one counts toward that number. What other systems do you work on woody1? Been in the industry for over 20 years now and the NEC isn't something that much different from about any other system out there in this regard.

I try not to work on phone systems at all, but I still support an Iwatsu system. I'm mainly IT, but this client doesn't want to pay the local dealer $225/hour plus a trip charge everytime.

Why not hook up remote access and see if the dealer will do remote work for less? Is this something physical that needs hooked up? I mean what are they paying you to learn?

$225/hour plus a trip charge, this would be about the highest labor rate I have heard of in St.Louis for our line of work.

If they can charge that I'm in the wrong end of this business and may have to put my tools back on and move to MO smile
