The 6.02 firmware is now available for download on the main NTAC website.

Here's a list of some of the patches:

The Univerge SV8100 Main Software version 6.02 has been released to address the following field complaints and introduce the following new features. PC Pro v6.00 is required to support main software 6.02.

New Features:

a)NAPT Enhancement

b)IP Single Line Telephone (SIP) Enhancement

c)PC Programming outbound IP connection

d)Remote (System) Upgrade with MEMDB

e)VM8000 InMail Enhancements

f)Standard SIP Transfer

Field Complaints:

a)When calls are made via a TAPI application (UCB, Desktop Suite, Dialer), if the dialed number ends with 911 and PRG 21-01-12 is set to 0, the number will not be dialed correctly.

b)Transferring a call out of UCB VM to an outside number fails when transferring out on Copper Lines.

c)If the VRS in a SV8100 answers an incoming analog trunk and the user dials an extension that call forwards no answer across CCIS to VM in a SV8500, the busy greeting is played instead of the no answer greeting.

d)IP Stations loose connection after port 5081 on the CP00 stops responding and a reset of the SV8100 is the only thing resolves it.

e)If an extension barges into a conference call, phantom calls are created in UCB for the extension initiating the barge it.

f)UCB agent extensions show "CTI Operation" in the display when UCB invokes the CTI unpark-with-callback feature to redirect a call from a UCB queue to the agent's extension.

Note: Any Field Complaints resolved in previous versions of Univerge SV8100 software are included in v6.02. Please refer to the SV8100 Release Notes Issue - 1.12.doc, SV8100 Release Notes Issue - 2.51.doc, SV8100 Release Notes Issue-3.13.doc, SV8100 Release Notes Issue-4.01, and SV8100 Release Notes Issue-5.02 for previously resolved field complaints.

We are on version 6.01 in Europe, did they say what the NAPT Enhancement?
Maybe added security as knowing the External IP address of any system with the correct port forwarding setup and plug and play setup will connect you and allow you to make calls.

The NAPT enhancement is the remote router will not need port forwarding. I could be wrong but that's my take on it.

Cheers Dans, that sounds pretty good too. There are people out there who think they can bring it with them to hotels, so maybe it will be possible now.

You mean that it will work like every other manufacturer's solution? This has been a weak point for the SV8100 for some time.

I believe that is what is intended. Only the router at the system ends needs to be pinholed and not the one at the remote site. The SL110 site tutorials have a good one on on NAT..

doghart - Are you aware of this problem in previous releases? We are experiencing this same issue on a an SV8100 running V 5.x

Any fixes or workarounds announced?

Currently I am only using SIP and PRI trunks at my sites with UCB.

If you have a minute, would you mind posting a link to the tutorial you mentioned above please? So far, I haven't located that NAT tutorial...
