Trying to set a system, first time, for caller ID. Folllowed all instructions in manual with no joy. Started out with an anomaly. The 4RSTC card has all four channels continously blinking, whether busied out on DIP switch or not. It is set in CM 05. Is this normal ? And there is just some programming error ?

4RSTC is your receiver card. I'd have to check the circuit card manual for the normal light pattern, but typically a flashing circuit on an NEC means that that circuit has not been programmed.

Your 4RSTC should be largely unrelated to Caller ID. You should be looking at your CO cards (i.e. 4COTB, etc.) which may or may not support Caller ID. Again, the circuit card manual should clarify this for you.

According to the manuals the 4RSTC/4COTG card combination is absoultely necessary for caller ID. The 4RSTC being the data receiver. The circuit card manual says the 4RSTC green light should flash at 120IPM in normal operation, and it does. And the four red LEDs (one for each channel) should light when receiving CID data. But they are blinking at about 60 IPM simultanously. And have been even prior to programming attempt.

You also need to load the caller ID sofware FD as well.

also your programming well be like this
09>52:0
050>04:08 04= Application 4RSTC Sw No. and make sure no other cards using the same Sw No.
0604>00:040 xxz ( xx: App No. ) , z:circuit No.
0604>01:041
0604>02:042
0604>03:043
08>472:0
312>0:3
3537>TR RT:0
35129>TR RT:0

Thank you LuckySlevin. Your example pointed out to me a couple of errors I had made. I believe I have the programming right now. But no CID. The 4RSTC card is in the AP0 slot, and asigned as slot 6 on the wheel. It is the only AP card in the system. The lamps are still flashing, and when the card is busied out, incoming calls will flash on the line buttons, but audible ringing disappears and the line cannot be picked up. The correlation between this and CID escapes me. I am missing something very basic.
