How exactly do you dial? With your cellphone as the modem?

Using HyperTerminal, I just select the modem and it acts just like a real one. I will say that it doesn't echo commands and doesn't allow me to save AT settings via AT&W. Each time I use it, I just have to activate local echo with ATE1. That way, I can make sure that I didn't fat-finger it. Other than that, it acts just like a real modem.

I just type in ATDT plus the phone number at the blank screen and it does it's thing.

I will say that I have my regular cell phone set up as a modem via Bluetooth, but the calls I made were via my netbook's VZW phone number. I even dialed my cell phone just to make sure and the CID showed up as my netbook's BTN.

I have never used any AT commands so I am not sure how that works, lol.
I do remember you helped me set my old cellphone up as a modem at one time just to see if it would work to dial into a system.

My battery's performance isn't very good. I have the standard 3-cell one that came with it and I'm only able to get about two hours out of it. I haven't tried using it with the transmitter turned off though.
