A while ago, I saw a post by someone that had tried to increase the RAM in his laptop, and it didn't work exactly right. Someone else posted a quick fix for this. But I am unable to find which forum it was in - I assume it was this one, but not sure. Anybody know where it is, and point me in the right direction? Thanks so much!

What do you mean didn't work exactly right? I've always used www.crucial.com They'll even scan your LT to see what you need EXACTLY.

Dave, the OS didn't recognize the entire size of the increased RAM. What MY problem is, is that for some reason (the error message goes by so fast, I couldn't read it), my laptop gets to a certain point in the boot up procedure, and then the error message flashes by, and then it reboots itself, maybe 2 or 3 times before it takes, and then it's ok, until I shut it down or go into hibernation. I increased the RAM from 512 MB to 2 GB. Oh, I had the work done at Best Buy....

Pull one dim at a time and see if you get it to work.
Also why don't you post the make model and year of the laptop.

A lot of older laptops wold only take a max of 1GB. Use of thr wrong RAM would prohibi the machine from even doing the POST. Use of bad RAM would cause the problem you describe. Sounds like a bad stick of RAM to me. A very common problem these days what with the junk that is flooding the market rom China.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you guys. What I did, was remove one stick of RAM and then try it. It works perfectly now. I guess the 2 GIG of RAM was just too much for the processor to handle! But at least I was able to double the available RAM, and get the LT to boot up a whoile lot faster, and multi-task much better, too! Many thanks to all of you for your suggestions!
