Our Dell 610's are getting long in the tooth so we are trying to find new Windows 7 laptops. Unfortunately nobody has one that I can find that still has a serial port.

Does anyone know of a laptop that still has a serial port or do you know of a good usb to serial adapter? We've used a few adapters back around Y2K but they were problematic.

We use Keyspan adapters.

And we haven't found anything that they won't connect to so far.

When I don;t have an actual serial port I don't screw around with USB devices (sometime I still need dos).

Get a Belkin F5U409 from your local Staples. I'll send you the $35 purchase price if it doesn't work flawlessly year after year on any Windows platform (and most Apple/Macs).
