We have a comdial DXP Key voice system V8.1. I have set up for a holiday greeting as per the manual and had our tech rep check out the setup. He says it is OK. I created a holiday routing box that the reception is the owner (as with other boxes). I then put in the holiday dates and specified that routing box. Except that it doesn't work. The holiday box greeting is bypassed for a system greeting that says "Please hold while I transfer you to that extension" and then nothing happens. This is before anyone presses anything. Any ideas. dtmf at Comdial forum said you might have some ideas. TIA.

Run a trace to a trace log file. Examine the file to see what is happening to the call. This should help. You may have to add entries into the Trans.txt file. Good Luck.

I finally got it. What I did was create a Holiday Main Routing box without a greeting (in this case 807) and in the Digit 1 I put the box number of the previous Holiday Routing box that has a greeting (806). It worked like a charm. 807 picks up the call and transfers it immediately to 806 where the greeting is played. Thanks for your help. I work in a MIS dept with a NetWare 3.12 network supporting Windows 95 and 98. If I can ever be of assistance, please do not hesitate to e-mail me. Thanks again.
