We recently installed 3 runs of 12 strand loose tube and I termed it all. Started the test/cert process last Friday morning and had a 100% failure rate! Yes, you read it right. We had a thousand more foot on the spool and reran it all. This time I termed 4 fibers. This to failed. I did notice some odd twists and kinks when we laid out the runs. Had another thousand foot overnighted with more connectors and finished the term process this afternoon. Had a 100% pass rate this time. The area Corning rep should here next week to inspect what we removed. I say the cable was respooled incorrectly. My termination techniques never changed. I was dancing a jig when the last pair went green. Besides, it's my birthday!

They are going to tell you that it is your fault...blah....blah...blah
Too much pulling tension etc.
Tried to tell me that more then once even for short runs on tray, they never want to admit it was their error

Years ago I had some Cat 5 cable that would only pass as Cat 4. We noticed that only one particular group of cables was failing and the manufacturer (General Cable) came out to investigate. They found that the spoiling machine had been set too tightly and they replaced all the cable.
Having said that, Jim, I wish you luck, but Joe is probably right and they'll probably not own up to the problem.
I did a lot of OSP fiber at one time, for a lot of different customers and there was one who had gotten badly burned - once. They used to have us quick splice ends onto both ends of a huge 768 strand reel and run a test. Only if it passed were we allowed to run it.

Because you didn't state it, I assume you didn't have an OTDR?

Why use fiber? There isn't Anything that can't be accomplished with a station battery magneto phone for voice and a telex circuit for data!
In all seriousness, if Corning balks, you might just need to go to small claims, and if the expenses associated with this bad spool of product are higher than your states' maximum small claims amount, then a full blown suit is in order. Then not only can you go for damages, but legal fees and recompensation for damage to your business reputation.
Just my two cents worth. No, I am not a lawyer, and I don't chase ambulunces.
