Please someone must know the answer to this. I have resurrected a sprint protege phone system and have a problem I';m sure that someone will know the answer to.
Tha damn phones don't ring, somehow there has got to be a feature that turns off the individual ringers, or all of them on mute, and well, mine dont ring. I cannot find a installation manual and as a moderator for a pool and spa websites web board, I'm sure someone out there must know, if you have a pool or spa, and you supply the fix, I'll send you a gift!

There were several different software versions of the protoge, some you could program from a phone and other required a laptop and version specific software to "talk" to the ksu. There are not many systems I would say this about, but I don't feel that I would be doing you a favor getting a protoge to work. If you can pull the cover off the KSU and read the software version off the chips, I may be able to come up with a book if you want to invest the time in it. If memory serves, if it's an old version you enter programming by pressing ftr *,# or ftr *,0 then 000000 for the password. If that gets you into programming, you lucked out and programming from the phone is pretty self explanotory.

You may want to check this thread for more info about the protoge.

I have the software for it. the trick is finding out what version you are dealing with. I also have the manuals and access to tech support. If you are dealing with anything larger thanb a CTX You will need the RMP software that is as close to the version you have. Feture # * gets you into programming. If you can do that then you have a 308 or 32. If you get error tones then you have a CTX. Also if you open the cabinet you may find some IC chips labled as something like K32US5.F05. If you have more of a horizontal shelf that you slide cards into then you have a MTX or LTX Much bigger systems.Unfortunately Sprint constantly changed. So we to know what you have to be able to help you.
Just curious, Is the lack of ringing both for CO and Intercom?

Try on the handset " Function *91" That logs the individual handsets back on the system...I don't know anything about programming. We have a local telco. that supports our protege' system
