Hello fellow phone guys...

We have a customer with a Centigram Voice Mail on an Option 11e. They are wanting to change their one tough options from the main menu. We have looked into the boxes that are supposed to contain the options and can not figure it out. It seems to be a very cryptic system. They main greeting is box 1489, it only has one distribution which is 8000 but, if you call the main number, they list several one touch items.

Does each key have a different distribution list?

Thanks in advance!!!

Hey mikeyh,

Centigrams can be very complicated, because there are sooo many different ways they can be set up...let me see if I can help...

Backround:
My name is Ron Lawrence and my company is PROMEMO Inc. No other person has more years of Centigram technical experience than I do (bar none), because I was employee #13 back in 1982 when the very first VoiceMemo system was produced and installed by me. After a few years at Centigram I left and started PROMEMO, Inc., which was dedicated only to voicemail systems produced by Centigram, which include Centigram, Baypoint Innovations and Mitel. So, although the names have changed a bit, the systems are still good 'ol Centigrams. And my company continues to support all the levels produced and we carry the software and the hardware too.

Because there are so many different ways for these systems to be set up, the best way is to go to my web site...www.promemoinc.com and take a look at the pictures to see which system and software release you have.
And while you're there, take a look at the tech and admin manuals, as you can download them (pdf) for your use, all at NO CHARGE. Yep, there FREE.

I do have older documentation (pre-1990) as well just for the asking.

But Tree mailboxes can be set up to press 1, 2 or 3 and then you can continue cascading for a long time. The members for the tree boxes are under the distribution list 01 within the tree box. Choose "L" List maintenance from within the mailbox maintenance menus.

Then if you have more questions feel free to call or email me and I'll be happy to point you in the right direction.

My problem is that I can talk too, I like sharing the knowledge if it can help others.

regards
Ron
