Does anyone know of a good solution to make handset volume louder than what the phone system can produce? Have a restaurant that has a loud environment, they want a new system and requested something loud enough for their situation.

Often times a confidencer equipped handset is of more help when in noisy surroundings. Amplified handsets also amplify the side-tone, and the net gain in 'hearability' is generally zero.

When I was young, I was Liberal. As I aged and wised up, I became Conservative. Now that I'm old, I have settled on Curmudgeon.

The confidencer and a volume control would work pretty good. The confidencer is actually the thing that tames loud ambient noise and lets the user hear the caller.

I think Mike Sandman makes handsets for loud environments.

I took a look at those websites---and on the
Algo website was the "Push-to-Talk" handset. That kind of thing works good too. It underscores the principle of shutting out the ambient noise. Nice sites. Thanks, guys.

There used to be one for older NE or AE sets called the Roanwell Confidensor
