I'm trying to understand why calls forwarded from ext to voice mail do not go into the subscriber mailbox but simply loop back to the ext.
The system is an Executone IDS 228. Caller calls into to AA, dials an ext the phone rings and after the specified timer the caller is forwarded to the voice mail system where it is promptly sent back to the phone (endless loop).
How does the call xpress route direct to a mailbox. I know systems like Norstar use * plus mailbox # to transfer direct to mailbox without ringing the phone. Is there a preset digit prefix for the Call Xpress or is there a place to enter a custom digit(s)?

Not having much luck here. I need to know what to put in a call processor mailbox that takes you to a subscriber mailbox without first ringing the phone.
IDS sends a prefix number (in my case its 7 but that is programmable) prior to the mailbox number when CFNA/CFB or CF to voice mail is invoked.

It was, as suspected, in the voice mail programming. Once the right entry was made in the call processor mailboxes, callers are again being directed to the correct mailboxes.
The IDS would send 7xxxx and even though 7 was used to the signal voice mail that the caller was to be sent directly to a mailbox, it would think the 7 was also the 1st digit of the mailbox #. I had to tell the call processors to ignore the 1st digit in the dialing string, if it was a 7.
Weird voice mail system.
