Hi. I've been setting up a very nice old Nitsuko 124i for a friend's tiny office and gave up on trying to use an NVM2000 with it - got a very nice Amanda instead.

The 124i is already set up to use the Amanda, which is set to work with it - but when the 124i does it's no answer/busy transfer the Amanda responds with it's default offer to transfer and so on.

This is being used in a tiny office with one guy and his assistant who answers all incoming calls.
She is at ext. 301.

There are 5 (centrex) CO lines - of which 4 are in a Centrex hunt group and one is for a charity which is also run from their office.

So, all calls ring at 301 and all 5 also transfer on no answer/busy to VM which is at 309, 310, 311, 312. (The 5th line appears as ext. 373)

Calls from the 'normal' lines need to go to a general mailbox w/ no options offered except to leave a VM; calls to the charity line must go to a separate VM box with it's own greeting and then get the same treatment.

I browsed all the Amanda manuals several times and find references to verbiage like:
"Using Amanda as a Voice Messaging Center",
but all the instructions pertinent to that idea are within sections for specific PBXs that are not what I am working with...and they all have many specific steps too.

My questions, please:

I need the specific steps to make the Amanda -just- answer when rung and take messages with no other options offered ?

Also - must I do some steps to remove the existing (default ?) Amanda programming/menu/etc. ?

Thanks for any help !

Well, Keeper of grounds and keys, you'll need mailboxes that match extensions, which in this case means a mailbox 301.

For the charity, you'll need a separate mailbox -- 302 perhaps -- which then notifies 301. I'd make 302 appear on phone 301, and transfer to voicemail on busy/na, into its 302 mailbox. That part, the integration, should be pretty much automatic.

Yo may also need to encourage the SoHo to transfer properly. To do this, log into the SoHo administrator mailbox and tell it to "learn call progress tones."

Thanks !
I'll give this a shot.

302 is an existing extension, as is 373 which is what the 2nd VM box needs to correspond to...

Thanks again.
