Hi (yet again),

Whilst parusing the BSP # 463-350-100, (yes, it is what I consider light bedtime reading), I saw reference to something called a F-58015 console. It looks almost like a Call Director without the handset or hook. Just a dial and the station keys. The BSP states that it is used in conjunction with customer owned PBX cordboard systems. I have two questions about this.

First, I thought that back in the day, that there were no customer owned PBX systems. I had assumed (dangerous) that the Bell System owned all of the customer's premisis equipment, and those few instances (like paging amplifiers) where there was an interconnect, there were extreme precautionary line isolation measures taken. I guess that I was wrong about that, and would like to know more about this.

Second, was there any other uses for the F-58015 console? Just curious.

Thanks much!

Joe
