i have a customer who would like to add a remote building to their network. They have phone cable buried, but no network cable. We have access to the main building and can install a line of site wireless solution to the outlying building. Any recommendations on the type of wireless equipment?

What distance are we talking about? I carry an 11b access point and a pcmcia for my laptop to do surveys. You would be surprised the distance you can get without an external ant. Also if copper is available, you can get the network going that way!

it is about 150 feet. But it needs to be a fixed point to point solution to bridge the network.

I am not sure but that seems to be a little far for wireless with out some external antennas, I could be wrong. But if you have phone cable and there are 2 spare pairs that distance should be
no problem just get some good data rated surge supression on it. Just wire straight thru 1pr-pins 1 & 2: 2pr-pins 3 & 6
