Hello, I am new into networking. I have been learning by on the job experience. Just learning things as I go, you know push buttons until it works then remember what you did to make it work. Is there any books to learn the basics of networking. So when I talk to people that work with computers or when somebody asks me a question I can tell them exactly what to do instead of have them click here and there to try to find what I am looking for so I can explain to them how to fix the problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on what experience you have already, I would recommend the networking for dummies book... Even though there is a lot of resources out there, that gives you the best general knowledge that I have found so far. If you want to step in to the advanced TCP/IP understanding, then I would recommend taking a few classes. Networking can be easy with all of windows Plug and Play features but when there is a problem or if you need a special configuration, then you really need experience and training to handle that situation.
