Our district is planning to upgrade our network and we have been approached by SBC with "Customized Switched Metro Ethernet" solution. It appears to be a catchy name for a MAN that will connect our 8 schools and district office LANs with fiber at 10/100Mb. Is anyone out there using this? Any comments? Warnings?

I'm not sure what they call it in California. Here in Texas we have services running through SBC called Gigaman which is a fiber service to connect several hospital campuses. If it's the same thing, we've had good luck with it.
