Hello.
I hope that someone here might have some experience in a Dell Powerconnect 2700 switch.
I read in a review that you must press the " management mode" button on the switch and the switch will reset into a management mode in order to get any type of admin feature on this switch.
My question is, does the switch become unusable for network traffic while in this management mode?
When you are done making the configuration changes, do you have to now reset it in a non-management mode so network traffic can resume or does management mode not effect the network traffic?
I reason I ask is because I have a mission critical business and I'm wondering if it will bring my network while in the management mode.
Thanks for your help

It is actually "managed" mode. This switch series by default is an "unmanaged" switch which means you basically plug it in and away you go. In order to use it as a "managed" switch where you can actually go into the web interface and configure VLANS, work with QOS, and access various other settings then you would use the button. The switch will reset thereby killing all traffic flow but once it boots into "managed" mode you can configure the switch while it is in service. So to recap that switch has two modes of operation "managed" or "unmanaged".
